From deep tissue massages to aromatic elevations, the “Massage Heights” retreat gives its guests the ultimate in relaxation and rejuvenation. Tucked away in Cary’s Crossroads Plaza, the retreat is somewhat hidden from view; but anyone who discovers this welcoming haven clearly finds a home away from home – a place where life’s anxieties and pressures drift into redolent air. With muscle-relaxing hot stone elevations, revitalizing peppermint foot scrubs, and soothing hot towel cold stone face massages, patrons bask in personal transformation.

Since the retreat opened a year ago, clients have taken advantage of its numerous benefits. Its membership packages and cost-effective pricing make pampering affordable and even more enticing – to ladies and gentlemen, alike (the latter of whom comprise forty-five percent of the retreat’s clientele). Licensed massage therapists work tirelessly to provide the very best care and attention, seven days a week.
Owner Karen Bernard aims to make her Massage Heights wellness paradigm a way of life for all who enter her establishment. When asked what motivates her entrepreneurship, she responds, “people have to take care of themselves.” This basic, but profound, awareness ensues from her triumphant survival of breast cancer, an experience which she terms “a wakeup call.” Giving back has always been Karen’s goal, which reflects in every inch of the retreat’s environs - its warm, inviting exterior and lush, high-end interior décor.

At Massage Heights, paying it forward is not merely an esoteric concept or slogan. It is a state of being. Over the next couple of months, the retreat will orchestrate charitable programs, beckoning community involvement. In November, it will host a canned food drive (those who donate five cans of food will luxuriate in a free elevation (hot stone therapy, a peppermint foot scrub, or a hot towel cold stone face massage). Then, in December, for every purchase of a twelve-month membership in a Foundation Lifestyle program, at the special anniversary price of $44.99 per month (regularly $49.99/ month), the retreat will donate five dollars to the women's shelter. The "Toys for Tots" drive also will be in full swing.

In its own corner of the world, Massage Heights elevates consciousness by perpetuating the idea that self-enhancement is a right, not a privilege, and that self-fulfillment can and should be a way of life – especially when grounded in community interaction and connectedness. This need-focused approach is a gentle call to action – one healing treatment at a time.
